We all remember The Great Pop versus Soda [versus Coke] map. We also remember the lessons that:

1. “Coke” is generic, like “q-tip” and “kleenex.”
2. Saying, “pop” makes you either sound like a snot nosed brat in a 1930s movie, or an idiot; and since since 70 years have past since the 1930s ended, anyone saying “pop” today sounds like an idiot. (I’m sorry, but those are the facts.)
