I had a dream that I was watching a movie. The movie was about a 4 member girl band that evadeded their handlers and hooked up with 4 guys at a concert and began a cross-country spree.
The girls have become bored and they want to put excitement back into their lives.
One of the guys that hooks up with the girls is Val Kilmer. Another one may be played by John Cusack, but I’m not sure. The Dixie Chicks have a reoccuring cameo. (They’re the band’s heros.) This sets up the reoccurring joke “Do you think the Dixie Chicks would do this?”, “What would the Dixie Chicks do?”, and so on and so forth.
The band is getting ready to go on stage but slips out to be with “the real people” outside. The girls seem to individually hook up with each of the 4 guys. Security begins to chase Val Kilmer off, and he begins to run. He convinces his girl to run too. Val gets on a cellphone and calls one of his friends, telling them that the jig is up. Each of them begin to make their own way to the exists, but hampered by the incoming masses and security begining to watch the exits for them.
The guys seem to have access to a scanner, because they’re informed of what security is doing. (It would make more sense if one of them just takes a walkie-talkie from a security guard.) The couple with the stolen walkie-talkie (or scanner) repeated calls the other couples (except for Val Kilmer and his girl, who apparently dropped their cell phone early in the chase) informing them of security’s actions. Our heros use this information to infer where Val and his girl are at any one time, but it’s confusing as security isn’t compleltely sure where Val is, and they get confused when they see the the other heros running, thinking they’re Val.
One of the heroic couples gets split up, and the guy begins to run across the tops of cars and busses that are entering the concert venue’s parking lot. While he’s doing this, the concert goers are yelling at him, but then one of them yells out “He’s Richard Simmons!”, when he doesn’t look anything like him. The crowd immediately becomes adoring and wants his autograph. Seeing the opportunity, the guy begins impersonating Richard Simmons as he runs across the vehicles. Eventually his girl finds him (due to the fact that Security goes into a panic and actually think that Richard Simmons is at the concert and running across the tops of cars (due to the aforementioned stolen walkie-talkie)).
Eventually the heros escape. After they’re safe, they rendezvouz at a diner. That’s when it’s revealed to the guys that their new found girlfriends are the band whose concert they crashed. (Actually, the girls were only and opening band, who already played.)
The girls are noticed missing in the morning when their manager notices that they aren’t on the tour bus, which has already left the venue, and has already covered alot of miles, due to the fact that the bus driver (played by Bobcat Goldthwait) was in on the girls’ disappearance, and thus driving like a complete idiot and at a a high rate of speed. It’s been established that the guy already is an “angry driver”.
The manager tells the priest on the bus (the girls’ are sponsored by a Catholic church) that the girls are missing. The priest becomes angry at the bus driver and orders him to turn the bus around. (This follows the priest establishment scene where the priest is talking
to the bus driver:
Priest:I bet you didn’t think you’d be driving for a church when you took this job did you?
Driver:*nervous laugh* *sidelong look* [classic Bobcat]
Priest: <whatever the priest’s pitch to Bobcat was /;> <pridefully>I was pretty good, wasn’t I? I do that alot, trick people into working for a priest.</pridefully> )
The bus driver left the band, and drove even faster than normal, because one the girl’s underage (approx 14 year old) sister was talked into using her “feminie wiles” to get the guy to believe that the girls were already on the bus, and then to drive fast. (It’s already been established that the driver has been leering at the girl.)
The sister gets in trouble by the manager, and the the cross country search/chase is on.
